Negative, Transparency and Photograph Scanning Service
All scanned negatives and photographs will be provided on a CD or DVD disc

(prints are available too)

135 Negatives (35mm)

Standard Resolution
1 - 49 negatives 35p per negative
50 - 99 negatives 30p per negative
100 or more negatives 25p per negative
High Resolution
1 - 49 negatives 75p per negative
50 - 99 negatives 65p per negative
100 or more negatives 60p per negative
  • Standard resolution negative scans are scanned at 3200 ppi. This gives you as resolution of about 4200 by 2800 pixels (equivalent to a 12 megapixel digital image).
  • High resolution scans are scanned at 4800 ppi..

If there is debris or scratches on the negatives, infra-red scanning may help detect and digitally remove or subdue the artifacts. Infra-red scanning cannot be applied to most types of black and white film or certain slide film as the silver retention in the emulsion prevents the infra-red scan from discerning contamination from the actual layers that represent the photograph.

You will receive your scans on a CD or DVD disc.
135 Negatives

135 (35mm) Slides (mounted or unmounted)

Standard Resolution
1 - 49 slides 40p per slide
50 - 99 slides 35p per slide
100 or more slides 30p per slide
High Resolution
1 - 49 slides 75p per slide
50 - 99 slides 65p per slide
100 or more slides 60p per slide
  • Standard resolution slide scans are scanned at a resolution of 3200 ppi (pixels per inch). This will provide you with an image of about 4200x2800 pixels (equivalent to 12 megapixels).
  • High resolution scans are scanned at 4800 ppi.

If there is debris or scratches on the slides, infra-red scanning may help detect and digitally remove, or subdue, these artifacts. Infra-red scanning cannot be applied to certain types of slide film, such as kodachrome, as the silver retention in the emulsion prevents the infra-red scan from discerning the unwanted contamination from the actual layers that represent the photographic image.

You will receive your scans on a CD or DVD disc.

110 (pocket instamatic) Negatives

Standard Resolution
1 - 49 negatives 35p per negative
50 - 99 negatives 30p per negative
100 or more negatives 25p per negative
High Resolution
1 - 49 negatives 45p per negative
50 - 99 negatives 40p per negative
100 or more negatives 35p per negative
  • Standard resolution negative scans for 110 negatives are scanned at 4800 ppi.
  • High resolution scans for 110 negatives are scanned at 6400 ppi.
Due to the diminutive size of 110 negatives, and the usually poor quality of 110 film exposures, we recommend the standard resolution scans. These scans will provide you with image files that will allow you to print good quality photographs up to 5x7 inches. Scanning at a higher resolution may not provide a better quality digital image, as the quality of the image is limited by the quality of the negative.
If the film has been well exposed, it may benefit from a high resolution scan. However, the vast majority of 110 films have been poorly exposed and ineptly processed.

APS (IX240) Negatives (price per negative)

Standard Resolution
1 - 49 negatives 35p per negative
50 - 99 negatives 30p per negative
100 or more negatives 25p per negative
High Resolution
1 - 49 negatives 75p per negative
50 - 99 negatives 65p per negative
100 or more negatives 60p per negative
  • Standard resolution negative scans are scanned on a mini lab such as you would find being used in many high street photo processing stores.
  • High resolution scans are scanned using a dedicated negative scanner at a resolution of 4800 ppi. The scanning process can take fifty times longer than the standard scanning method, and may involve combining multiple scans and infra-red scans*

*If there is debris or scratches on the negatives, infra-red scanning may help detect and digitally remove or subdue the artifacts. Infra-red scanning cannot be applied to most types of black and white film or certain slide film as the silver retention in the emulsion prevents the infra-red scan from discerning contamination from the actual layers that represent the photograph.

APS (IX240) Negatives (price per cartridge)

Standard Resolution Only
1 - 9 Cartridges £4.00 per Cartridge
10 - 49 Cartridges £3.50 per Cartridge
50 - 99 or more Cartridges £3.00 per Cartridge
100 or more Cartridges £2.50 per Cartridge
  • Standard resolution negative scans are scanned on a mini lab such as you would find being used in many high street photo processing stores.
If you have several cartridges, it may be cheaper to have the entire cartridge scanned rather that just the negative frames that you require. Only standard resolution is available for this service due to the prohibitive amount of time it would take to scan entire cartridges at high resolution.
For High-Resolution prices see the section above.

Prices are the same for 25 exposure cartridges and 40 exposure cartridges.

126 (Instamatic) Negatives or Slides - mounted or unmounted

Standard Resolution
1 - 49 negatives 45p per negative
50 - 99 negatives 40p per negative
100 or more negatives 35p per negative
High Resolution
1 - 49 negatives 75p per negative
50 - 99 negatives 65p per negative
100 or more negatives 60p per negative
  • Standard resolution negative scans are scanned at a resolution of 3200 pixels per inch.
  • High resolution scans are scanned at a resolution of 4800 pixels per inch. Higher resolution scans can be obtained, but there is no noticeable difference in the quality of the scan, as the limiting effects of the film's grain determines the quality of print once you reach 4800 ppi. The scanning process takes longer than the standard scanning method, and may involve combining multiple scans and infra-red scans*

126 Negatives

127 Negatives (common negative sizes are 4x3cm, 4x4cm and 4x6cm

)
Standard Resolution
1 - 49 negatives 50p per negative
50 - 99 negatives 45p per negative
100 or more negatives 40p per negative
High Resolution
1 - 49 negatives 75p per negative
50 - 99 negatives 65p per negative
100 or more negatives 60p per negative
  • Standard resolution negative scans for 127 negatives are scanned at a resolution of 2400 ppi. Due to the large size of these negatives this gives you a very large image.
  • High resolution scans are scanned at a resolution of 4800 pixels per inch; such a high resolution will allow you to print selected parts of the photo without compromising the digital quality. The high resolution scanning process can take much longer than the standard scanning method, and may involve combining multiple scans and infra-red scans*

127 negatives

120/220 Negatives (medium format - 6x4.5cm, 6x6cm or 6x9cm)

Standard Resolution
1 - 49 negatives 50p per negative
50 - 99 negatives 45p per negative
100 or more negatives 40p per negative
High Resolution
1 - 49 negatives 75p per negative
50 - 99 negatives 65p per negative
100 or more negatives 60p per negative
  • Standard Resolution for medium format negatives is 2400 pixels per inch which gives you an extremely high resolution image due to the large size of the negative.
  • High resolution scans are scanned at 4800 ppi which would only be necessary if you planned to print only a small selected area of the negative without lowering the digital quality of the image. The high resolution scanning process can take much longer than the standard scanning method, and may involve combining multiple scans and infra-red scans*

120 Film Negatives

Sheet Film Negatives

Standard Resolution
1 - 49 negatives 60p per negative
50 - 99 negatives 55p per negative
100 or more negatives 50p per negative
High Resolution
1 - 49 negatives 85p per negative
50 - 99 negatives 80p per negative
100 or more negatives 75p per negative
  • If you've gone to the trouble of shooting and developing sheet film negatives, you may as well continue your high standards when they are digitised. Standard resolution for sheet negatives is 2400 pixels per inch. Combined with the size of the negative, this gives you an extremely large image.
  • High resolution scans are scanned at 4800 pixels per inch. You may wish to have such a high resolution scan for archival purposes. The high resolution scanning can take much longer than the standard scanning method, and may involve combining multiple scans and infra-red scans*

Sheet Film Negatives

Disc Film Negatives

Standard Resolution
1 - 49 negatives 55p per negative
50 - 99 negatives 50p per negative
100 or more negatives 45p per negative
High Resolution
1 - 49 negatives 70p per negative
50 - 99 negatives 65p per negative
100 or more negatives 60p per negative
  • Standard resolution for disc film negatives is 4800 pixels per inch.
  • High resolution scans are 6400 pixels per inch.
Due to the general poor quality of disc film exposures there is often little advantage in opting for the high resolution scan. The size of each negative is only 11mm by 8mm. The size of the grain, however, remains comparable to larger formats, so you have significantly more grain apparent in your photographs.

You will receive your scans on a CD or DVD disc.

Slide Film Processing 35mm (E6)

If your E6 slide film has not been processed please add £8.00 to the cost of your order.

Colour Film Processing 35mm (C41)

If your film needs processing, please add £4.00 to the cost of your order.

Black & White Film Processing.

Unless your film has C41 on the canister, we cannot currently process your black & white film.

APS Film Processing.

If your APS film needs processing, please add £4.00 to the cost of your order.

If you have any older formats of film that have not been processed, such as disc film or 110 (pocket instamatic) film, then they are likely to be significantly past the time at which they should have been processed, and the results are likely to be unsatisfactory. Please contact us if this is the case, as we may be able to recommend other companies that specialise in processing old or redundant film stock.

Photograph Scanning - All Sizes

Standard Resolution
1 - 49 Photos 40p per Photo
50 - 99 Photos 30p per Photo
100 or more Photos 25p per Photo
High Resolution
1 - 49 Photos 50p per Photo

The size of each print is such that high resolution scans will give you very large images. If you do not intend to print posters or significantly larger photographs, then standard resolution is usually sufficient. The standard resolution is higher than the print resolution of commercially printed photographs (typically between 300 to 400 pixels per inch).

You will receive your scans on a CD or DVD disc.
